Cancellation & Refund Policy
At Atacama Inn, we understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. We strive to provide a fair and transparent cancellation and refund policy for all our guests. Please review the terms below regarding booking modifications, cancellations, and refunds.
1. Standard Flexible Rates
For reservations booked under our Standard Flexible Rate:
- Free Cancellation: You may cancel or modify your reservation free of charge up to 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival date (3:00 PM local time).
- Late Cancellations: If you cancel within 14 days of your arrival, a cancellation fee equivalent to the first night's room rate plus applicable taxes will be charged to your credit card on file.
- No-Shows: Failure to arrive on your scheduled check-in date without prior notification will result in a 100% charge of the total reservation cost.
2. Non-Refundable & Promotional Rates
Certain promotional offers, early-bird specials, and discounted packages are marked as "Non-Refundable" at the time of booking. For these reservations:
- Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Cancellations, modifications, or early departures will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.
3. Refund Processing
If you are eligible for a refund based on the policies outlined above, the refund will be processed to the original method of payment. Please allow 7 to 14 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank or credit card issuer's processing times.
4. Force Majeure & Exceptional Circumstances
In the event of unforeseen extraordinary circumstances (e.g., severe natural disasters affecting travel to the Atacama region, government-mandated border closures, or global pandemics), Atacama Inn may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit voucher for future travel in lieu of cancellation fees. Such exceptions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
5. Spa and Experience Cancellations
For Spa treatments, guided desert tours, and private transfers booked through the hotel, we require a 48-hour cancellation notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
